I’ve released this for beta testing. Its a quest mod for the Ecliptic Mercenaries.
This is my initial release of an Ecliptic storyline. It is not complete yet so stay tuned., however a good portion of the story is complete and ready to play. The story starts at the Red Mile on Porrima III. Head over there and talk to Dan Platz at the bar. He will guide you further in the questline. Advisory: be careful about what you say to the NPCs as disrespect may cause the storyline to change. Enjoy.
I build my mods using the Vanilla game so there shouldn’t be compatibility issues but if you notice something please reach out.
Extra Commentary
What have I done? Well, I’ve basically copy and pasted from various assets in the base game to create unique locations. Of course, I’ve added and subtracted from what I’ve copied to make something completely new. I will say this, even though I’ve copied and pasted, I’ve spent a considerable amount of time testing and making sure everything is just right. Its not as easy as it seems. The developers of this game did such a great job with world creation and I understand how much work they put in because the detail is truly amazing!
I’ve put a lot of love into these locations but please let me know honestly what you think. If you hate them please don’t hesitate to tell me as I love all forms of criticism. At this point, the locations have been created but I am still polishing them. I have further ideas for how to make them even more unique. I will start my work on creating the quests, scripts, and unique NPCs for the storyline as soon as I feel completely satisfied with the locations (I am a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to art). I am also considering using my own voice and my girlfriends for voice-acting for quest dialogue however I don’t quite know how to do this yet. I will most likely release the quest version of the mod in text first before playing around with audio files.
