Version 2.26.b
Currently, this mod does two things:
– Allow NPCs to land at bases
– Increase the amount of time NPCs stay at bases
This mod started as an attempt to fix NPCs circling bases after Synthesis. I’ve partially fixed that problem and will probably add more to this mod in the future (after 2.24.a) based on feedback and my own gameplay. I have tested space stations, trade outposts, and personal bases; all allowed NPC landing both within and outside of base radii. I personally observed up to 5 or 6 NPCs at the same time at both outposts and stations.
Current Features:
Allows one NPC to land at player bases.
Extends the amount of time NPCs stay to 45 to 85 seconds. NPCs were only staying about 30 seconds, on average, which I felt was far too short. Combined with only having one NPC at a time, I decided to increase the stay time about 4x. I may reduce this a tiny bit in the future.
Caveats:
No matter what I do, I can’t get more than one NPC to land at a time at bases. I’ve tried lots of landing pads, my ship on and off pads, and making the wait time really long to try to get overlap, but I can’t get more than one at a time.
One of your pads (I think your first placed) is designated as your personal pad. NPCs will not land on that pad unless there is one other empty pad. So, if you have only two pads and are parked on the secondary pad, no NPCs will land; if you have three pads, the NPC will land no matter where you are parked.
This mod affects GCAISPACESHIPGLOBALS.GLOBAL.MBIN and will be incompatible with any other mods that do the same. I’ve included a LUA file so you can more easily merge this with other mods or adjust the values to suit your preferences.
