A reworked version of the American wild horse by excellence, but tweaked to be more accurate to the Pryor Mustang variant, which is, I think, the one that Rockstar tried to represent in-game, instead of the Kiger, the Cerbat or the Spanish Mustangs, that are slimmer and more colourful. The body is worked after Nokota’s while head comes from the Kentucky, so nope, it’s not a simple recolor! It comes by default with feathers, but every coat has an “unfeathered” version attached for those who prefer a lighter steed. My reason to make them “feathered” is the Rockies population tend to have long hairs on their hooves. They’re not exactly feathers in the proper word, but they’re closely similar due to the breed descending from Spanish work and draft breeds.
Most of the coats are duns and roans, because they’re like these in real life, but I made a Cloud’s, Pride’s and Encore’s cameo here, three famous wild stallions you may know if you’re from USA.Cloud was a beautiful cream palomino male born in mid 1990s in the Arrowheads whose life was recorded by filmmaker Ginger Kathrens since he was a little foal. During his more than 20 years, he leaded and mated with several mares, whose offpring is still alive today. My Cloud’s Lineaje Pack is based on him, his sons and the creamies that roam this wild range. Unfortunately, Cloud died supossedly in 2016, but, as a legend, no one could find his corpse, so he reminds me a lot to Thowra, the palomino brumby (Australian wild horse) from the books and that old movie I still love…
REQUIREMENTS
–Lenny’s Mod Loader.
-Alexander Blade Scripthook.
–Asi Loader (dll version).
–Rampage Trainer.
HOW TO INSTALL
1) Install firstly the required script mods from above and choose the proper version of each one akin to your game version. You can find them in Nexus, as well as their installation guides, but generally you’ll have to extract the ABS (or another Scripthook), the Asi Loader dll file and more folders into the main root game folder.
2) Go inside your RDR2 game directory, where you have your .exe and launcher, and create a new folder called LML.
3) Click LML and, once you get there, create another folder more called Stream, where you’ll
place all the YMTs and YTDs files. Just drag’em all here.
4) Launch your game and if everything is right, you’ll see a loading bar and finally
you’ll be able to summon your new horses with Rampage Trainer >> Spawner >> Peds >> Horses
5) If your horses are invisible it’s because something got wrong: maybe their textures are
not compatible with scripts versions or you’ve placed another mod that changes some textures, or perhaps it’s a conflict between mods textures. My advice: don’t place textures YTDs files that have the same names unless they’re provided by the same author, due to some YTMs can share their texture with no problem but they’re mostly those ones like the grey Kentucky from Improved Kentucky Saddlers Mod, which is able to share the +45 texture files with the buttermilk buckskin from the same modder. If they come from different authors, they’ll
be probably not compatible.
6) If you want to replace a different horse in game, rename the YTM file to the horse you want to be replaced instead. There’s a guide in Nexus with all the proper names to choose from but you can use the list from below which includes all horses
breeds codes. If you want to replace, for example, the American Paint Grey Overo,
copy & paste the former ymt. so you can rename the horse file and so you’ll see the new horse breed instead of the old grey overo ingame.
BUGS
-Bridles don’t fit very well on the left or the right side of their face. Maybe I made asymmetrical cheers by accident… who knows! I’m currently unable to change that, because I don’t know exactly if it’s because there’re 2 cheer clusters instead of 1, as I think, or it’s due to changes in head size.
Said that, hope this doesn’t bother you very much and you still like my Pryors. I’d like to work on another variant, the Spanish Mustang, cause they seem to be very pretty to me, but that’s a work in progress and can’t promise a soon release, cuz I’d also like to take some rest from horse modding. See ya!
