That’s why I created this mod to overhaul weapon damage and bring a sense of realism and intensity to combat. No more tweaking damage multipliers—that’s what difficulty settings are for. Instead, this mod focuses on reimagining weapon performance so every gun feels as deadly as it looks.
In vanilla Starfield, players often abandon early-game weapons as they progress, favoring the new and more powerful options that come with higher levels. But why should weapons lose their relevance just because you’ve leveled up? This mod ensures that all weapons, regardless of tier, feel viable and impactful throughout your playthrough. Gunfights will be brutal, and choosing the right weapon for the job will be critical.
Mod Highlights:
This overhaul focuses on realistic ammo mechanics, energy weapon functionality, and logical damage scaling.
Ammo-Driven Damage:
Weapon damage is now closely tied to ammo type. For instance, inconsistencies like the Grendel dealing 3 base damage while the Komodo (using the same ammo) deals 13 have been corrected.
Smaller calibers no longer outperform larger ones unless justified by unique weapon characteristics.
Ammo Caliber Adjustments:
6.5mm CT → 9.0mm CT:
The Maelstrom and Kraken now fire 9.0mm rounds, better reflecting their chaotic design and boosting their damage for close-quarters combat.
Energy Weapon Tweaks:
Energy weapons feature larger magazines or improved “battery” capacity for extended use.
Balanced Scaling:
High-powered rifles retain their unique traits, but damage output is now consistent across similar weapons.
Note on Weapon Skins:
Some images of this mod may feature alternative weapon skins. Please note that these are not part of this mod. This mod only adjusts weapon damage and modifies the ammo type for the Maelstrom and Kraken. Any cosmetic changes you see are from separate mods or personal customizations.
