Standalone NV4 Assault Rifle

This mod adds a completely standalone version of sabbath7991’s absolutely excellent NV4 Assault Rifle mod – we all waited for it, and now it’s finally here! This mod took me a TON of work to ship, so please endorse if you appreciate it!

I added both the Original and Flatline variants as separate in-game items, which can both be picked up in the Lodge, on top of the utility cart behind the Spacesuit Workbench; additionally, they can be crafted at the Industrial Workbench with the proper materials. Each variant comes with a full suite of attachments and mods, which can all be crafted at the Weapon Workbench. Please read the Notes section below for more info on how everything works.

NOTES

I gave the NV4 a damage boost because the Maelstrom is pitifully weak! The NV4 has a base damage of 10 (as opposed to the Maelstrom’s base damage of 4), so it has a bigger bite. This brings its DPS a little bit above the AA99, because a weapon this awesome shouldn’t only cause pinholes! (For comparison: Maelstrom base DPS = ~33; AA99 bDPS = ~57; NV4 bDPS = ~61)
I added an ammo counter as a floating holographic next to the weapon, because I could.
Behind the scenes, Starfield weapon meshes are basically bare receivers with no grip, magazine, optics, etc, by default. Those weapon components get randomly assigned on the fly by the game, resulting in the many different variations you can pick up throughout the world. However, the NV4 mesh is one solid piece consisting of the receiver, grip, stock, and barrel, meaning those components can’t be changed from a visual standpoint. This is probably based on how the model was initially exported from COD, and is hard-coded into the NIF, so I am unable to change it. However, I set it up so you can mod those weapon slots at the workbench for stats, but there won’t be cosmetic changes to those parts.
The laser sight mesh has to remain on the NV4, as it is technically recognized by the game as the weapon barrel. Without it, none of the muzzle attachments are visible or functional, and the Barrel category on the Weapon Workbench will be locked out. I assume this was required to make the original replacer mod work in the first place, as this too is hard-coded into the NIF, so I am unable to change it. Though you can’t remove the laser sight, I set it up so you can activate or deactivate the laser at the workbench, which costs no crafting materials. This applies to both the standard Laser Sight and the Recon Laser Sight.
I originally made the angled foregrip removable, but it’s actually pretty crucial to making it look like your character is holding the weapon properly. As a result, I made it so it can’t be removed. Sorry, but that grip is load-bearing!
I haven’t yet been able to figure out how to swap the black skins onto these weapons without creating a whole new in-game item, so that will likely be coming in a future update.
I also still haven’t figured out how to change the weapon icon on the HUD, so that may come in the future. From what I can tell, there’s one single file that dictates all icons for all weapons, so only one mod at a time could have that active file. To keep compatibility to an absolute maximum, the icon will stay as a Maelstrom for now. Priority low.

INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS: Either download with a mod manager, ordownload manually and unzip to the Starfield\Data directory.
