The “Starfield Fleet Expansion” mod seeks to enhance the spaceship experience in Starfield significantly. Here are the key features:
Expanded Ship Variety: The initial release includes 20 uniquely designed ships from various starship manufacturers in Starfield. These vessels will range from large cargo haulers to agile fighters, powerful corvettes, heavy gunships, assault dropships, and reconnaissance craft. We’ve meticulously matched the ships’ visual style to Starfield’s shipyards and factions, seamlessly integrating them into the game’s universe and lore.
Abundant Choices: Players can select from a wide array of ships, with more options planned for future releases (see roadmap). Whether you’re a trader, explorer, or combat enthusiast, there’s a ship suited to your play style.
Dynamic Encounters: All added custom ships also spawn in space, adding them to existing unpredictable encounters. As you explore the starfield, you might encounter them as friendly or hostile vessels.
Boarding and Exploration: Like any existing hull in the game, this mod allows players to explore and purchase the added ships from vendors across the universe or board them when encountered. Exercise caution—some vessels are potent enemies!
Current release
V1.0: Initial release. Mod and Tech by u/Vodswyld (without whom this mod wouldn’t exist), 20 ship designs/concept art by u/wizzackr. All ships are available at various star yards across the galaxy. Crimson fleet variants spawn randomly.
Roadmap:
V1.1 – V1.4: Additional starship designs from u/Anarchy_Nova, u/NxTBrolin, u/Revan1126, and u/f36263 will be added. We aim to introduce 100+ unique hulls through staggered releases. You can preview samples of the artists’ designs at r/starfieldShips on Reddit, where the idea for this mod originated. Random spawns for Spacers, LIST, Galbank, and Va’ruun encounters

Compatibility & Requirements:
This mod requires rux616’s “Ship Vendor Framework” mod to be installed. Because – and this is taken straight from rux616’s description of his mod – “The system that Bethesda designed for selling ships is interesting, but it lacks a crucial element: Changeability. In vanilla Starfield, once a ship vendor has been loaded the first time, the list of ships they offer for sale is locked in forever.”
This mod wouldn’t function without his framework, requiring a new game/NG+ to work. A huge thank you and shout-out to rux616 for making it possible!
Disclaimer:
The Starfield Fleet Expansion utilizes ‘glitch-building’ techniques. Further customizing reactor classes or similar on added ships may require players to utilize basic glitch-building techniques.
All living quarters and interior spaces remain fully functional and unobstructed by any of those glitched structural components to not hinder role-play.
It may take up to 7 in-game days for the ships to spawn at vendors.
The concept art showcasing the ship designs seeks to depict what character and role each of the added designs bring to the game. While it does show the ship designs’ layouts faithfully, decals and liveries are not part of the Starfield fleet expansion. We are working on it, though…
