On the occasion of the release of the first Red Dead Redemption on PC and Halloween, I’m here with the famous Dark Horse, the low honor horse par excellence!
I tried to remake the horse the best I could, adding my own touch as well! I also made two custom models for it, a Default version, that tries to replicate the original RDR1 model and a Skinny version that speaks for itself! You can see those bones very well! Last but not least, custom, bloody eyes are also part of this mod!
Both horse and eye textures are added into the game, meaning you can use this horse together with other horse and eye mods and nothing will conflict! There are other conflicts issues, though, so I invite you to read the Conflicts section of the description.
if you’re new to modding, please read the next section extremely carefully.
HOW TO USE
You need to install some things to make this mod work for your game:
Script Hook: be sure to install the latest version available. After you have installed it, put ScriptHook.dll in your RDR2 directory. If you’re using Steam Launcher, your directory should be somewhere around here = This Pc/Local Disc (C:)/Programs (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/Red Dead Redemption 2;
Lenny’s Mod Loader (LML): now copy everything inside the ModLoader folder and paste it into your RDR2 directory. You should now see the famous “lml” folder we’ll be using later;
Asi Loader: just place version.dll into your directory.
Once you have all the tools, simply download the mod, extract it and follow the instructions inside the “How To Use” text.
CONFLICTS
This mod’s main file changes codes inside assets_albedo, therefore, it will conflict with every other mod that uses and modifies that same file, like WhyEm’s and others.
Since I imagine some of you might want to use the Dark Horse together with these mods, I made another version of the mod in Optional Files that is compatible with other assets_albedo mods at the cost of being a normal replacement horse like any other.
