Enhancing all weather types with vibrant skies, cinematic sunsets, dynamic thunderstorms, and realistic effects
John Marston Vision – RDR1-Inspired Visual and Weather Overhaul
What’s New?
A Complete Weather Overhaul
I’ve reworked every single weather type to feel more alive and visually striking. The goal was to make the game look like RDR1 brought into today’s standards—more vibrant, more dramatic, and more immersive.
Vibrant Skies
The skies have been completely redone. During the day, they’re bright and rich real magic happens in the evenings. Sunsets now bathe the landscape in warm, golden light that stretches across the horizon
Thunderstorms
Storms have been cranked up a notch. When a thunderstorm rolls in, you’ll feel it. Heavy rain comes down in thick sheets, lightning flashes bright fog moody atmosphere
Region-Specific Weather
New Austin: The deserts are back in all their dry, dusty glory. Clear skies dominate during the day, while the sun blazes down
West Elizabeth & The Heartlands: Mornings are soft and foggy, giving way to overcast afternoons and beautiful, glowing sunsets
Ambarino: Up in the mountains, it’s cold, crisp, and snow-covered. The skies are overcast, the snow feels heavy
Improved Lighting Effects I’ve tweaked how light behaves throughout the day so shadows, reflections, and color grading all feel more natural and cinematic. Whether it’s sunlight breaking through the trees or the soft glow of a lantern at night
Darker Nights for Realism
Nights in the wild shouldn’t feel bright or safe—they should feel dark, quiet, I’ve made nights darker so you’ll rely on lanterns, fires, and moonlight to find your way
