Makes ship upgrades at the Space Station free. Adds drop scanner options to find Crashed Starships, Multi-Tool Locations, DropPod locations and Portal locations. Optional: -Do not have to charge portals to activate them. -Summoning starship to landing pads/zones free.
(Thanks especially to @monkeyman192, @Wbertro, @Lo2k for mod help.)
THIS IS IMPORTANT: Use only one of the following 4 mods from “UpgradeTools.zip”.
1. “ScannerPlusFreeUpgrades.pak” (This includes both 2. and 3.)
2. “DropScanner.pak” (All scans are free) (DropScanner.lua included)
3. “Free Upgrades.pak” (Upgrades Starships and Freighter Slots) (Free Upgrades.lua included)
4. “DropScannerHard.pak” (Requires Navigation Data and Coordinate Data)
This mod includes 4 basic mods with 2 of them (part 1 and 2) affecting the same files.
1) The ship salvage module at the Space Station adds free slots to your Starship and also upgrades your Starship Class for free. The freighter upgrade station on the freighter adds free slots to your freighter. “Free Upgrades.lua” file included.
Modifies:
METADATA\REALITY\TABLES\NMS_DIALOG_GCALIENPUZZLETABLE.MBIN
METADATA\REALITY\TABLES\REWARDTABLE.MBIN
2) The Drop Scanner has new options. “DropScanner.lua” file included. Scan the planet for:
-Crashed Starships. Find the starship and if it’s not the one you want, keep scanning until you find it. It seems to keep finding new ones each time.
-Minor Settlements to search for different Multi-tools.
-Exosuit DropPod locations.
-Portal locations.
-Manufacturing Facility.
-Habitable Outposts. (Feature on older NMS versions)
XHEAD (Enhanced Signal Booster Dec 2018) inspired these drop scanner changes.
Modifies:
METADATA\REALITY\TABLES\NMS_DIALOG_GCALIENPUZZLETABLE.MBIN
METADATA\REALITY\TABLES\REWARDTABLE.MBIN
3) Once you arrive at a Portal location, there is no need to charge the portal slots in order to activate the portal.
I updated “No Charge Portals NEXT” by Seekker (Aug 2018) to work with NMS Desolation. (contact me if need me to remove)
Modifies:
MODELS\PLANETS\BIOMES\COMMON\BUILDINGS\PORTAL\PORTAL\ENTITIES\BUTTON.ENTITY.MBIN
4) Makes calling your Starship to landing pads/zones free (no navigation data required).
Modifies:
MODELS\PLANETS\BIOMES\COMMON\BUILDINGS\PARTS\COMMONPARTS\LANDINGZONE\SUMMONSHIPBEACON\ENTITIES\SUMMONSHIP.ENTITY.MBIN
MODELS\PLANETS\BIOMES\COMMON\BUILDINGS\PARTS\ENTITIES\SUMMONSHIP.ENTITY.MBIN
This mod is handy for players who can’t afford to trade for a particular starship that they want and so have to settle for a crashed version of the starship. (i.e., starships posted on No Man’s Sky Coordinate Exchange.) NMS Living Ships update changed crashed starships. It now seems that all of the better “crashed” dropships are “C” class. The free starship upgrades takes care of this problem.
This mod makes it less cumbersome to seek out starships and multi-tools posted on No Man’s Sky Coordinate Exchange. There are supposedly only 4 multi-tool types per system.
Tasks made easier by this mod:
-Upgrading your starship.
-Upgrading your freighter slots.
-Searching for a portal and activating it.
-Checking different Minor Settlements for a particular multi-tool.
-Searching for a particular “crashed” starship. (Be patient when looking for the better style ships as they are more rare)
-If you need to summon your starship to a landing pad/zone and don’t have any navigation data.
Thanks for trying out this mod.
