Slightly alters the position of the hands and guns while hipfiring, making it a lot more fun visually
This is such a trivial animation edit that I didn’t know how to even upload it in a way that made sense as a mod, but it’s just too cool and immersive not to share it so here we go.
In the firstperson.meta file that some mods use, such as Ironsight (upon which this mod is built), you can find at lines 109 and 373 the animation coordinates for hipfiring (and a bunch of other stuff I’m in the process of understanding) for respectively all 1 handed and 2 handed guns. Modifying the translation values of these two datasets makes hipfiring insanely cooler than vanilla, where you can barely even see the gun you’re shooting. See the video below, I think it’s pretty cool and I set the numbers so that the gun is slightly off center so it never covers the aiming reticle while still allowing you to see the amazing 1st person animations
I uploaded my modified firstperson.meta file which also includes tweaks to iron sights and defaults all FOV values to 62, so you need to adjust it based on your preference. If your firstperson.meta file is already heavily edited or you don’t want mine to overwrite yours, go to lines 109 and 373 and insert the following values:
For generic 1handed:
<FOV value=”62.0″/>
<Translation x=”-0.050″ y=”0.000″ z=”0.11″/>
<Rotation x=”0.000″ y=”0.000″ z=”0.000″/>
<WeaponActionIndex>FPCO_GUN_HIP</WeaponActionIndex>
For generic 2handed:
<FOV value=”62.0″/>
<Translation x=”-0.055″ y=”0.000″ z=”0.110″/>
<Rotation x=”0.000″ y=”0.000″ z=”0.000″/>
<WeaponActionIndex>FPCO_GUN_HIP</WeaponActionIndex>
Install in LML folder
