What is this?
a lighter (very small performance hit) and Brighter (stronger lighting effects) simple-realistic shader for RDR2. Designed to work with laptop gaming or gamer who pursuit high fps.Very small performance hits (around 0.128ms – 0.225ms GPU hit only).
This version is compatible with any Reshade 4.x.x version (4.3 – 4.9.1). Optimized for new DLSS for RDR2 (to prevent over-sharpening).
Intro
I made this version just for fun during re-lock-down time :'(
I read an article from a famous website that mention the RDR2 new update brings DLSS feature. I decided to revisited RDR2 world (I left it a year ago since my tiny SDD need to install another new game). Re-installed it, and… wow RDR2 is already need 118GB files size now (my tiny old SSD almost collapse! lol! ). But it’s worth as DLSS work so beautiful in my old PC 🙂
How to install:
– Download Reshade installer from https://reshade.me
– Install Reshade whatever API you want (Vulkan API or DirectX 12). Just install the basic shaders.
– extract / drop n drag my “RDR2Lite.fx” file into your Reshade shaders default folder **: \reshade-shaders\Shaders
– run the game and give tick check-mark on “RDR2Lite.fx” shader to activate it.
** Default folders:
– for Reshade Vulkan API: C:\ProgramData\ReShade\reshade-shaders\Shaders
– for Reshade DX12 API: the same as your RDR2.exe resides; e.g C:\Program Files\Epic Games\RedDeadRedemption2\reshade-shaders\Shaders (I’m using RDR2 Epic Games store version).
Adjust Dark Level and Light Intensity from UI
Default values were set to neutral screen profile (null). You can easy set the Dark Level value or Light Intensity value to match your liking or match with your monitor profile (OLED/IPS/TN/VA, etc.).
** Dark Level = + 0.050 and Light Intensity = +0.200
