First off, the next playthrough that I’m working on is like this one except the Gambler Challenge, and only the Gambler. It seems like everybody hates that particular challenge. I’ve already gotten a suggestion that I fill out the animal section of the Compendium as well, but please please please give me suggestions in the comment suggestion. And don’t forget to endorse if you like any of my posts! Thanks!
As stated in the overview, this playthrough has anything that is usually considered “grinding” out of the way.
Every mission has a gold medal finish. (Always the hardest grind of them all.)
All Collectibles have been collected at the very start of Chapter 2.
The Herbalist Challenge is also completed at the start of Chapter 2.
The Gambler Challenge is completed early on in Chapter 2 after “The Smell of Grease Paint”. (That, and the start of “The Noblest of Men, and a Woman” have to be done in order to make way for completing the Gambler Challenge. They are the only unnecessary Stranger missions that are completed before the end of Epilogue 2.)
Beyond all that, what makes this post different from the other such save series that I did is that I went out of my way (more than ever before) to leave everything else up for you to do.
No leveling is done on health, stamina, or Dead Eye until Chapter 6. The same for John in the Epilogues.
Zero pelts or feathers used in crafting have been turned in to Pearson or the Trapper. Which means…
No camp decorating has been done, no satchels for you, and certainly nothing from the Trapper for you.
Your cash levels are low and only go up (somewhat) from mission payouts. After “Sodom? Back to Gomorrah”, I made no effort to keep you cash levels down, but I also made no effort to make you any extra money.
Until the later chapters, you’ve got the bare minimum of weaponry. Nothing purchased, nothing upgraded. Not even non-regular ammo.
The only Stranger missions that have been done are the ones that become unavailable after a certain point (and the ones mentioned above).
All random interactions that aren’t forced on you as part of a mission or camp-companion activity are available until the end of Epilogue 2.
Your horse is nothing special until the Epilogue, and even then, it’s not the best of the best. You do however have the Silver Dapple Pinto Missouri Fox Trotter for the very last couple of missions of Chapter 6.
I’m super sleep deprived, so I’m probably forgetting to mention something. I’m usually pretty good about checking for messages, so if you have any questions at all, please ask. Thanks!
