This mod re-balances spacesuits, packs and helmets and gives each set a dedicated role, allowing you to choose a suit to fit your activity!
This mod adjusts spacesuits and allows you to use any suit regardless of your level. It does this by putting suits into dedicated roles, you can now choose one which fits your activity (and the cool looks), rather than just going off the stats
As far as I’m aware this is the first of it’s kind! So I’m very pleased to bring this to you.
The new Starfield update added new gameplay options so users can tweak their settings and fine-tune their difficulty. These options range from combat damage, vendor credits, Planetary hazards etc…
With this in mind, you now get to choose what suit will fit your activity. Are you exploring dangerous planets? engaging the crimson fleet in combat? A bit of both? This has you covered.
I decided what suits go in which category purely based off how they look and what ones best fitted the roles.
NOTE: I tested this mod, and it seems the environmental resistances don’t have an effect on how long your protection lasts, but rather how quickly you begin to get ailments once it runs out. I’m almost certain this is unintentional by Bethesda, as it defeats the whole purpose of suit protections
This mod still works in that regard and still makes it relevant. But it’s not using the full potential of exploration suits
So for now, because of this, I’m going to upload an optional mod that puts all suits in the Balanced & Combat categories, so you still get that added protection once it runs out. Hopefully this issue gets resolved by Bethesda in Junes update (if it is actually unintentional)
SUMMARY OF THE MOD
– Suits are now split into 3 categories, Exploration, Combat and Balanced. All stats between categories are normalized. meaning a navigator suit is just as good as a Mark 1 suit.
– Adjusts levels at which you find all suits now so you will find Calibrated/Superior at roughly the same level.
This mod balances Spacesuits, Packs and Helmets by creating 3 sub-categories. These categories are:
EXPLORATION SUITS: (Currently not at full potential due to a bug within the game)
These suits have lower combat stats than average but MUCH higher environmental resistances, these were created for the new update which allows you to make planetary hazards more dangerous. Wearing one of these will ensure you are provided with good protection from the planet, with the payoff that you’re less protected from other threats (guns + claws)
Suits in this category range from the Deep Recon to the Explorers. There wasn’t too many exploration looking suits, so I did my best to fill out the category while maintaining some kind of immersion.
COMBAT SUITS:
What is says on the tin. High combat stats, but at the cost of very low environmental resistances. All these suits have been brought up to the base stats of the vanilla high tier suits (Trackers/Bounty Hunter), to ensure there is no power creep and that they won’t end up TOO strong.
Examples of suits in this category range from all Crimson fleet gear, USEC/UC, Mercenary, Bounty hunter and MANY more! There’s plenty of choice for the gunslingers out there!
BALANCED SUITS: (In the optional file these have had their Environmental Resistances boosted, as it still stops Ailments progressing)
A nice mix of both combat stats and environmental resistance, for those that was to explore, but also shoot up a nearby POI on the way back to their ship.
Suits here range from Navigator, Mark 1, Ranger and ALL Starborn suits
What else does this mod include?
I have also adjusted the level at which you find all the suits, so you won’t be finding an advanced pirate suit before you find a Standard Bounty Hunter. There is still some progression though, so you’ll find a Calibrated Pirate suit starting level 18 (up from vanilla level 8) and then a Bounty hunter in the low 20’s. But it just means there’s more choice now rather than “I have to use this suit because it’s stats are FAR superior”
Of course there may be some errors. If you see that your current suit has not changed stats, you might need to spawn in another one so the game ‘refreshes’ it
Please report any bugs and i’ll try my best to resolve it!
