
This mod changes two things. First, all food and drinks now only restore health outside of combat, and it will reflect on their item description real time. So you can easily check whether you’re still in combat or not. Second, all food and drinks now restore a percentage of health instead of a fixed amount. For example, a lemon used to restore 2 health, now it will restore 2% instead. This tweak is to compensate the first change also to balance out mid to late game scaling. The overalll goal of this mod is to make food a useful item to pick up while maintaining the vanilla like balance.
Please note, unlike previous bethesda titles, whether you are in combat in starfield is decided by multiple factors. Simply line of sight your enemies to drop combat is no longer a reliable strategy. Sometimes you have to make sure no enemies in vicinity(even behind walls) before you can drop combat. In rare occasions, you may not be able to drop combat during entire dungeon so keep that in mind.

This is a single esm plugin, just install it as usual.

Compatible with most mod added food & drinks without patch
Should be compatible with most mods that editing food, e.g increase their effectiveness etc. since my mod doesn’t edit food&drink records.
Incompatible with mods removing food healing entirely for obvious reasons.
