
ROVER-HAUL is a lightweight resource consumption and storage management system for Vehicles in Starfield.
It has two basic features.
Each can be toggled on or off separately via the Gameplay Options.
Features:
BATTERY
When driving a Vehicle, it will use Battery Charge.
The rate at which Charge depletes varies according to Speed, Gravity, and Ambient Temperature.
If Charge is fully depleted, you will be unable to use your Vehicle until you recharge it.
You will need a Rover Battery item in your inventory to recharge.
It will take about 10 minutes to fully deplete a battery under normal conditions.
Please note that speed significantly affects Charge Depletion.
A notification will appear at 50% and 25% warning you of low charge levels.
Battery and Fuel Items can be crafted, purchased, or looted.
[FUEL]
While all Vehicles use Battery by default, they can be set up to use Fuel as well.
Fuel is (as of release) mechanically identical but features its own consumable and messages.
If you have Deimog installed, it will use Fuel instead of Battery to showcase this mechanic.
This can be done via a simple script to patch mods that introduce vehicles which should use fuel.
As mods introduce support, I will list them here.
STOWING
When leaving a Settlement or Outpost, your Vehicle is packed into your ship’s hold.
If you do not have enough room in your Hold, the vehicle will be unavailable until you visit port again.
When returning to a Settlement or Outpost, your Vehicle is unpacked and your Hold Space is restored.
When landing outside of a Settlement, your Vehicle is unpacked but the Hold Space is reserved.
There is a Gameplay Option to always leave your Vehicle behind.
It will only be accessible at Spaceports if this is chosen, but it will also not use up any Cargo Space.
[GARAGES]
Mods that add Garage Habs can add native compatibility without plugin dependency.
This would allow bringing along a Vehicle without taking up space in the Cargo Hold.
As mods introduce support, I will list them here.
Not features:
Currently does not scale total Vehicle Charge capacity on anything.
Does not interact with Boost or Boost Meter.
Does not change Stowed Vehicle weight according to Vehicle.
I will probably not patch anything unless it requires direct scripted compatibility, but you are welcome to.

Install with your mod manager.
Compatibility:
Compatible with any mod not doing the same thing.
Compatible with All Vehicles Have Storage.
Notes:
This mod is WIP and is released AS-IS.
It is mostly a proof of concept for features like the Stowing and Deployment mechanics.

Just PM me if you would like to learn how to add native functionality to Use Fuel instead of Battery.
I can add it or you can, it is as simple as adding the Furniture form to my FormList.
If your vehicle is Electric, it will be compatible out of the box as long as it is set up properly with VehicleKeyword.
