Magic Boost Disabler is a lightweight, universally compatible solution to disable the vanilla behavior of Boost Packs ‘magically’ appearing on your back, even when your spacesuit is hidden.
I always found it tremendously annoying that the boost pack will simply appear out of nowhere even if I am wandering around town in my street clothes.
To make matters worse, the only way to prevent this in vanilla is to unequip your boost pack every time.
This mod simply uses a few tricks to ensure that if you can’t see your pack, you can’t use it.
Features:
If your spacesuit is visible, and you have taken rank 1 of the Boost Pack Training skill, you can Boost Jump.
If your spacesuit is not visible, you cannot Boost Jump.
That’s it.
Compability:
Compatible with everything.
The vanilla condition this mod references will be affected by mods like Smarter Spacesuit Auto-Hide or Auto Spacesuit Hider.
This does not make them incompatible, it is just something to be aware of.
Installation:
Simply install with your mod manager of choice and enable the plugin.
If switching from No More Magic Boost Packs, you can uninstall it.
No clean save is required, the older mod only overwrites one vanilla record.
Configuration:
There is a single Gameplay Option for the mod.
[REALISTIC] prevents Boost Packs from appearing unless your Spacesuit is visible – simple as.
[MAGICAL] disables the mod and uses vanilla behavior across all scenarios.
Uninstallation:
Mid-game uninstallation is not recommended.
If you must, please remove all equipment and disable the mod in Gameplay Options before removing.
Notes:
How does this differ from No More Magic Boost Packs?
The above mod is incompatible with any mod that attempts to alter when and where the Boost Pack can be used, due to a vanilla constraint.
It is also incompatible with any mod that changes the vanilla Boost Pack Training perk record.
Additionally, it can only be disabled by uninstalling.
Magic Boost Disabler is compatible with everything and can be disabled at any time.
