Subtle Flashlight V1.0

See the image? Well this mod makes the vanilla flashlight less intense and helps illuminate wider area without all the specular mess hitting your eyes.

This mod tweaks the helmet flashlight with the aim of making it more realistic. It widens the angle and changes the color to be warm yellow instead of cold blue hue. It also decreases luminosity.

There are other cool flashlight mods out there, but the main reason I made this one was that no other mods seem to address the overblown specular shine from the flashlight.

I eventually got tired of getting blinded when walking up to metallic doors and glass surfaces, so I decided to remove specular from the flashlight altogether. Specular light and reflections can still be seen from other light sources that don’t reflect directly back into your eyes. Trust me, your eyes will be thankful.

In the end, I made two different color options, in case people still like the vanilla blue-ish tone of the flashlight.

Just to reiterate, Flashlight specular light will be disabled on both options, but specular light from other sources is not changed.

INSTALLATION:
– Download the file of the color option you want. Please note only ONE option can work at a time.
– Extract the .esm file into your Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Starfield\Data
– Activate the .esm file from the Creations menu inside the game

COMPATIBILITY:
Any mod that tweaks flashlight settings will most likely be conflicting. There are mods that change the gobo of the flashlight (texture of the light cone) and those might work in combo with my mod, but only if they don’t change other settings such as color, light angle etc.

COOL ADDITIONAL TWEAK:
Make nights much darker for additional realism. Add the following to your StarfieldCustom.ini, which is located in Documents\My Games\Starfield

Please note, all screenshots were made using this tweak. Subtle flashlight mod looks really nice in combo with it.
