
This mod improves how combat feels throughout the game. My goal was to make the combat somewhere between Ascension’s very quick TTK and the Less Spongy Enemies – 0hp per level mod that I have been using since the game came out.
This is the No Bullet Sponge AND No One Hit Kill mod with my own edits to make the world feel more believable. Here are the key differences between this mod and the original:
Lowered the enemy health per level from 5hp to 0hp. The original mod allowed high level Pirates, Ecliptic, Va’ruun, etc. to still reach 1,000hp+.
Lowered the min HP that the original mod increased. The lowest I did was 75hp with most low-level enemies around 100hp. Still not one shot kills like vanilla but less than the original mod that had the min hp around 200+. The original mod also drastically increased the min HP of the stronger enemies like the base Terrormorph to 4,950hp from the vanilla 1,930hp. I changed the min HPs for the strongest enemies back to around this vanilla value.
The max HP from the original mod was edited slightly, but they are mostly the same which is much less than vanilla.
Hand tweaked almost every health value from the original mod so that the different tiers of enemies have a better progression with the new min HPs and slightly edited max HPs.
I did not touch the damage resistance changes from the original mod. Setting the DR to half of the vanilla value feels like the right choice to make the TTK faster while maintaining balance. For context, the Ascension mod removes nearly all enemy damage resistances.

This is the start of my own combat/ weapon/ gameplay overhaul series. Below are a few recommended mods that work well with this:
Better Tier Names for Weapons (The first two tiers of guns in vanilla Starfield are weak which makes the enemies still seem a bit like bullet sponges in the early game. This mod renames the tiers so you know the first two tiers of weapons you find are not good versions of that weapon. Helps with immersion. Explains why my Grendel can’t kill a fly cus it’s Salvaged, lol.)

Recreate the mod from scratch in the CK to convert it to a small master plugin.
COMPATABILITY
Should be compatible with everything except mods that alter an NPC’s (including robots and deadly creatures) health. Whatever loads last will overwrite.
