This is a re-upload of my mod “No Speed Lines” that I made under a different moniker (shadowphoton) shortly after Beyond released.
Changelog: 9-30-20 – Some users were reporting this mod not working, I believe I have identified and fixed the problems. Please let me know. Reuploaded a final time because I accidently had “Hover” enabled on the normal file. If you didnt want Hover, it should be fixed now.
Experimental: I believe I’ve finally figured out where the value for the white “speed” lines is located (GCSPACESHIPGLOBALS). After I removed the pulse lines from my game, I would notice in VR there would be these white lines to the left and right of my ship that came at me as I pulsed through space. For me, these are useless and I don’t like them as they just obscure the view of space that I’m trying to enjoy. This is in an experimental phase because sometimes they do not draw correctly, so its possible that my testing is faulty and that in reality they are just not rendering properly. So far though all my testing has not shown a single such white line.
This is a great mod for use in VR and is why I made it, the rainbow lines really ruin the view of the scale of planets and the sense of traveling through space. Increases immersion (for me) a lot.
Optional: Included a version of this that is combined with my “Enable Ship Hover” mod because it modifies the same global file and many people like using ship hover. If you use this optional file, make sure you delete any other ship hover mods from your mods folder including my stand alone ship hover mod.
