SPDX - It Takes A Village

A settlement mod that focuses on initial investment for enhanced rewards.

I made this mod because I was unsatisfied with the cost of construction in the vanilla game and wanted to see if I could up it a bit. It ended up becoming a small project that I worked on for about two days.

Big thanks goes out to Burryaga and cmkushnir on the NMS Discord for introducing me to the NMS Mod Builder and teaching me how to make mods in it!

This mod:

Multiplies settlement build times by 2
Multiplies settlement build costs by 10
Completely overhauls settlement products – no more mold! Settlements will now produce race-appropriate goodies, alongside a tiered system of trade commodity production that increases in value as settlement economy improves
Increases maximum population to 256
Increases maximum roaming NPC population to 64 for a more ‘active’ feel

In 1a:

Forces settlement spawn so that every planet is guaranteed to have at least one settlement
Allows settlements to spawn on glitch planets

In 1b:

Slightly reduces the chance a decision will offer a new building
Reduces the maximum judgement wait time to 1 hour
Increases maximum production as high as it will go
Increases maximum upkeep as high as it will go
Reduces maximum debt to 65536

This mod is not compatible with mods that change the following file(s):
GCSETTLEMENTGLOBALS.MBIN
METADATA/SIMULATION/ENVIRONMENT/PLANETBUILDINGTABLE.MBIN
