Makes the challenges easier and able to be completed out of sequence and allows for easier way of unlocking the Legend of the East outfit for Arthur.
Warning: Will reset most of your challenges progress except for Explorer and Master Hunter 2 – Get 3 Perfect Rabbit Pelts and is meant to be ideally used on a new game since the game tracks and tallies stats from different sources. Back up your save game.
In this mod the Challenges are easier and can be done in a nonlinear way so you can get the Legend of the East early on in the game while also feeling like you earned it. Furthermore, in order to unlock the outfit, you ONLY need to do the following challenges (the others are optional and will only give you monetary rewards, status boosts, and Trapper equipment unlocks):
Only required for Outfit (Complete these and you will get the Legend of the East Outfit at camp, tested on some fresh-ish saves and it worked):
3 Treasures.
3 Poker wins in a row.
4 Varmint Kills.
2 Coaches robbed or fenced.
15 Long side arm kills.
12 different Herbs collected.
3 Perfect Rabbit Pelts.
9 Predators killed while on a horse.
7 Consecutive Headshots.
Trapper Equipment (tested most of these and they seemed to be working fine):
Rob 5 townsfolk.
Rob 2 coaches.
Steal $20.00 from citizens.
1 Train robbery
5 poker wins.
3 fillet wins.
Win fillet in Strawberry and Valentine.
3 consecutive poker wins.
5 yarrow.
Craft with sage.
Pick 6 herbs.
Pick 12 herbs.
Kill 3 rabbits from horse.
Lasso drag.
Kill without dismount.
Kill 9 predators from horse.
Skin 3 deer.
Get 3 perfect rabbit pelts.
Track animals with binoculars.
Herbivore and predator baited kills.
Shoot 5 flying birds.
Shoot 3 birds from train.
Get 6 consecutive headshots.
Disarm 2 enemies.
Catch 3 blue gill.
5 carcass donations.
5 varmint kills.
3 small game.
3 knife kills.
10 shotgun crafted ammo kills.
3 kills with 1 dynamite.
15 long side arm kills.
Get 3 treasures.
Horse Race Challenge have been removed from the script and their rewards have been moved around to various other Horsemanship Challenges.
Notifications for the challenges have also been reduced to make them less intrusive.
All the challenges have had their requirements severely lowered so that you can casually finish all of the challenges in Chapter 2.
Pause menu Challenges screen shows the icons, descriptions, and text for the general challenges and inside those menus you will only see the challenges required to unlock the Legend of the East outfit and to 100% the statistics page.
Some challenges like Survivalist and Explorer unlock after doing at least one of the required activities such as getting the first Varmint Kill or getting a treasure map.
You can check progress on all challenges (essential and nonessential) from the in-game “Log”. Once a challenge is completed, it will be removed from the log after the game reloads.
Some noteworthy changes:
Explorer has been reduced to only require 3 treasures.
Only need 12 different types of Herbs.
Lasso drag accumulates so you don’t have to drag one poor sob all over the map.
Only need to rob 1 store in a day and 2 coaches in a day.
Don’t need to tame all the horse types.
Don’t need to rob $50 from civilians and citizens.
Don’t need to get 4 consecutive tomahawk kills with the same tomahawk (only need 2).
etc etc.
Instructions
