Adjusts the costs of many items in the game to reflect what they would’ve been in 1899
I’ve always been really fascinated and obsessed with having a game that’s as realistic and immersive as possible, so with this mod I aim to make the prices in the game reflect what they actually might’ve been in 1899. No more paying a dollar for a can of beans!
This mod changes the prices of all consumables (herbs, food, medicines, baits, alcohol), weapons, tack and services in the stable, ammunition, newspapers, and player upgrades. I am by no means a history expert but I studied various price guides and advertisements set during the 1890’s to try and get the prices as accurate as I could, some liberties were taken here and there but hopefully the mod will be an extremely immersive experience for you.
If you feel like any of my prices are wildly inaccurate to 1899, let me know and be sure to include a source so I can read all about it!
FAQ:
Does this conflict with other mods?
This mod will only conflict with other mods that edit catalog_sp
Why is *insert item* so expensive?
I tried to keep the prices of all items exactly as they would’ve been in 1899, specifically. For instance, the Browning Auto-5 (Semi-Auto Shotgun) was not available to the public yet so you’re essentially paying top dollar for an early access prototype and the Volcanic Pistol was a rare collector’s item. Certain items like alcohol and tonics were very subjective in terms of their prices so I tried to find a good median for them.
Since this mod is still in the beta, which items have not had their prices converted yet?
Clothes, trapper items, most of the items sold or bought at the fence, animal loot, upgraded parts for guns, train tickets/stagecoach fees, money taken from gang hideouts, pedestrians, random encounters, and missions, horses, trinkets, and barbers have not yet had their prices converted. This will be added in later versions of the mod.
Why are some of the guns free?
This has nothing to do with the mod, they’re free if you bought the special edition of the game and I’m not currently aware of how to revert this.
