Version: 1.7.1
A simple Reshade shaders pack for RDR2 DX12
This simple mod would give you beyond ultra mimic even with low-medium in-game graphic settings!
3D Stereoscopic also support to enjoy the beautiful RDR2 world on your giant 3D OLED TV!
What is this?
A simple Reshade preset and shaders pack for RDR2
This preset would give you beyond ultra mimic even with low-medium in-game graphic settings .
It’s NOT using heavy or complex shaders (e.g AO, HDR, Ambient Light, etc); just simple shaders and JUST MIMIC!
Features:
– Night scene darkness re-balanced
– 3D Stereoscopic mode (press F11 to activate it): Top-Bottom format, optimized for passive 3D TV (e.g LG Cinema 3D series)
– Image details improvement (by combined lighting, contrast and simple sharpening)
– Shading optimized for Mid-end PC system. Image quality pop-up even with low-medium graphic settings level. I recommended start with 5 bar (5/20) of “Quality Preset Level” inside your RDR2 Graphic Settings as base line. Increase quality level settings until your get your sweet spot (image-quality/performance).
Download version as you need
There are 3 version of this graphics mod.
– Beyond Ultra version (full shaders, 3D Stereoscopic support, higher image details) you can download from my blog here:
– Simple Realistic version (Lite version), you can download from my nexusmods page here:
https://www.nexusmods.com/reddeadredemption2/mods/10
– Vulkan API Edition**, you can download and read the detail how to install and use it from here:
https://www.nexusmods.com/reddeadredemption2/mods/137
** This Vulkan Edition is without 3D Stereoscopic mode(since the related shader still crashes with Vulkan API)
UPDATE 11302019:
Simple Realistic Reshade for RDR2 3D V1.7:
>bring back hyper realistic lighting and colors that appeared in version 1.0.
>Added color saturation adjustment inside Reshade UI (press END button); slide it to minus (-) if you still feel the default color is too strong ).
>Stripped away unnecessary detailing shader that made image over-sharpens
UPDATE 12012019:
a new version V1.71 just added:
>small default value correction
>Added Dark-Level adjustment inside Reshade UI. (slide it to minus (-) for brighter and plus (+) for darker).
UPDATE 12162019:
a new version V1.75 just added:
> Vulkan API Support, based on new Reshade 4.5 (Special thanks to Crosire and Thalixte! for this!)
> This version don’t have 3D Stereoscopic version since related shader still crash with Vulkan API
> Far DOF effects added. (you may adjust or disable it through Reshade UI by press END keyboard button).
Notes before install:
– Make sure that you are running RDR2 in DirectX 12 mode (for Vulkan mode, I didn’t try it yet.
Since Epic Game Launcher refused to run with Reshade batch file).
– Clean-up/Move/Backup your previous Reshade files (dxgi.dll and their related files and folders) if you already installed it to your game.
– DO NOT use this mod for playing online!
How to Install:
– After you clean-up your previous Reshade version, extract files into the same folder with your game executable (RDR2.exe)
Command Keys:
INSERT: Toggle Effects ON/OFF (default is ON)
PAUSE: Toggle real-time side by side comparison (left = vanilla; right = with Mod)
END: open Reshade UI overlay menu/editor
F11: Activate 3D Stereoscopic Mode – Top and Bottom Format ~ Optimized for LG 3D Cinema Screen (Thanks to: Jose Negrete for
this awesome shader!) >> Only available in “Beyond Ultra” version, not available in “Simple Realistic (Lite) Version”
How to change 3D Stereoscopic mode (e.g SBS for VR)
As default, 3D Stereoscopic format is Top-Bottom. This is the best format for my 3D passive TV (LG 3D Cinema series). But if you need the other format like SBS (side by side) format for some active 3D TV (e.g Samsung 3D TV) or VR HMD (e.g Virtual Desktop VR SBS mode) you may change with these steps:
– Activate 3D mode by press F11
– Press END button to open Reshade UI overlay
– Look up for “Stereoscopic Options” and under “3D Display Modes” choose whatever 3D format that your 3D screen supported.
Tip: if you play with VR HMD (SBS), please try to switch camera from 3rd-person to first-person view-port by pressing “V” keyboard button. Tested with my Oculus Rift S + Virtual Desktop, the result was so incredible! I hope some day R* would willing to make the native VR version for RDR2. 🙂
