Let’s face it, the Improved Iron Sights are useless. None of them are historically accurate, they’re ugly, and they have no statistical benefit on your guns, despite what the in-game stat bar says. Don’t you wish that Component slot could’ve been reserved for something useful?
this is what the Calibers mod aims to fix, replacing the entire Iron Sights component category with a new category: Calibers. Each gun has two different calibers or bullet powder loadings that impact performance, sometimes drastically. This applies to all firearms, including the Navy Revolver & the Elephant Rifle. With the catalog file, Scopes are now available for almost all Repeaters & Rifles, and I have also included streaming replacements for those who don’t want to change or get rid of their catalog file, as well as a merged version that includes my 1898 – Accurate NPC Weapons mod. I have also altered the stats for the Short Barrel, instead of providing no stat bonus whatsoever, it now provides a 10% increase to rate-of-fire, so now there’s a reason to choose the Short Barrel over the Long Barrel in specific circumstances (the Long Barrel still provides a 10% boost to overall range). The stats for these calibers are listed below
INSTALL
drag & drop the “lml” folder into your main directory; if you want my Accurate NPC Loadouts mod as well, do this for the “lml” folder inside the “Accurate NPC Loadouts merge” folder instead. If you want to keep the catalog_sp file you’re currently using, open the “catalog_sp replacement” folder and drop the “stream” folder into your lml folder, as well as replacing the install file with the one provided in the “catalog_sp replacement” folder

Changelog:
Version 1.3
-re-added the cut Gutta Percha varnish to Shortarms & Longarms (can’t add to Hunting Knife due to missing component data)
-changed the Carbine Repeater’s 2nd caliber to .56-50 Spencer. Since it’s the weakest weapon in the game, I felt that it should have more flexibility to help it compete with the ever-dominant Lancaster; the .56-50 Spencer caliber increases rate of fire by 25% & decreases range values by 30%, allowing the Carbine Repeater to be more of a close-quarters weapon & highlighting its strong damage values
-fixed Rare Rolling Block not having .43 Spanish stats
-changed the stats of the .43 Spanish Rolling Block caliber: 40% less weapon condition degredation & 40% farther range, with 10% less damage
-increased the drop-off range penalty of the Schofield’s .44 S&W American caliber from 10% to 20% and included a matching overall range reduction of 20%, to better highlight that it’s meant for closer ranges like the Cattleman, and the default .45 Schofield ammo is meant for longer ranges
-reduced the 8mm Gasser degredation penalty by 15%, from a 75% increase down to 60%
-reduced default Double-Barrel fire rate by 200% (from 500% down to 300% increase) to reduce instances of NPC’s firing shots too quickly
