Felt like mining isnt a good bussiness opportunity? This mod fixes that. Makes ore more valuable to sell, but also more expensive to buy.
I played trough Starfield alot of times, and when i make new characters, i always went trough the same path.
Take Frontier to Jaffa, kill ecliptic, take their contraband, steal their ship, go to The Den, sell stuff and go from there.
When i needed more credits, i wait 1 day in Mercury to reset Jaffa, but this ended up being extremely boring now.
Then i got to thinking, why not make a mod that makes all ore more valuable? Afterall, NPCs talk as if they make it big when mining,
but its hard to take them seriously, when the ore you sell, is only worth no more than a used pen, or half chewed gum.
This mod does 2 things, changes the value of all ore (like Iron, titanium, gold, the whole table), and encourages players to
go out to mine ore. I discovered that once you reached far enough in your end game, you can simply just buy all the ore you need, making mining
pointless, and my mod fixes that as well.
I made 2 versions of the mod. Default enhanced value of the ore, and double.
Iron for example, has the value of 50 or so credits. The double value version makes it 100.
Chose one of the versions (and activate only 1).
So hop on your ship, mine some asteroids or mine some ore on a planet and become rich!
Installation
Simply extract the files into your Starfield folder so that the ESM file is in Data.
You can then either use your favorite mod launcher, or using Starfield’s creation menu to
activate MiningYourOwnBussiness.esm file.
Once done, all ore will now be worth more. The Commerce skill will make a big impact in this, so any mod that
changes that perk will also affect the ore value.
Q&A
Q: Why make this?
A: Getting quick cash via contraband gotten boring, so i made something else profitable that offers
more variation.
Q: Its faster and more profitable in selling Contraband, why mine for ore?
A: For role playing reasons, i thought it make sense for someone who was from Argos Extractors to be, well, a miner.
Q: All organic materials are the same value, how come?
A: Last i checked, plants arent ore of any kind.
