“Echoes of the Past”
As the great migration from Earth began, the sky darkened with despair. Humanity faced an environmental cataclysm; cities crumbled under
the weight of chaos, and survival became the only instinct. In a desperate bid to preserve civilization, a radical plan emerged—using any vessels available to ferry those who could escape. Among them were two relics of a bygone era: the USS Narwhal and the USS Stingray, two decommissioned WWII submarines repurposed for space travel.

The ships, once stealthy predators of the deep, renowned for their speed and agility during the wars, underwent refitting for space and were
equipped with propulsion engines capable of traversing the vacuum of space. Its crews, a ragtag group of former navy personnel and engineers, fought tirelessly to restore it to working order. They helped fortify and house the diverse groups
of passenger scientists, families, and dreamers who had banded together for the journey. As the countdown began for the last launch from Earth, both submarines were filled with a sense of urgency and hope. Families mustered for one last embrace while crews conducted rapid checks on their makeshift fusion drives. When the alarms blared, signaling that the moment was at hand, the two
vessels slipped away from the crumbling planet, leaving memories of home forever lost.

Days turned into weeks as the Narwhal and Stingray navigated through the distant reaches of the solar system. They became known as the
“Ghost Ships” among the scattered colonies of humanity that had managed to escape Earth—a symbol of hope and resilience for those who had found new homes among the stars. With each passing day, the memories of their departure faded into myth as the last remnants of civilization on Earth lay abandoned, devoid of life.Rumors began to swirl in starports and colonies alike—two legendary vessels, the USS Narwhal and USS Stingray, navigating the Sol system, their hulls echoing stories of a long-forgotten world. Each passing comet and shower of stardust shared tales of the brave souls aboard, a testament to an era of resilience as they sought their place among the stars. Though the people who had escaped never saw those last ships arrive, their legacy remained alive in the tales woven among the stars—a haunting reminder of the lengths to which humanity had gone in its quest for survival. As the inhabitants gazed up at the night sky, a flicker of hope burned in their hearts, believing that the Ghost Ships sailed on somewhere out there, guardians of their shared past, forever seeking a new home in the cosmos.
