Dynamic Fidelity is a graphics overhaul for RDR2. It reworks lighting, shadows, weather, and global visuals to create sharper detail, more natural color, and a stronger sense of atmosphere while keeping the game’s style intact.
Dynamic Fidelity
offers a broad rebalancing of Red Dead Redemption 2’s visuals.
The goal is to make the world appear more coherent, more legible, and closer to how players often imagine the OG graphics should look.
Clear skies are brighter and more stable, storms are darker and heavier, fog has been thickened but remains navigable, and cloudy conditions have gained more nuance in both shading and color. These adjustments ensure that transitions between weather states feel smooth yet distinct, rather than flattened or repetitive.
Shadows now carry more weight. Their draw distance has been extended, their bias reduced, and their terrain presence made more consistent. This gives depth to scenes that previously appeared flat and helps preserve visual integrity across large vistas. Lighting has also been tuned: sunny moments are sharper, while wet and stormy environments emphasize drama without drowning the scene in bloom.
Beyond weather, the overhaul touches global rendering settings. Temporal anti-aliasing has been sharpened for clearer edges, reflections and ambient occlusion have been strengthened, and volumetric effects such as fog and light rays have been refined. The cumulative effect is subtle in some moments and striking in others, but always directed toward producing a more stable and convincing image.
This mod is still not finished, it is a WIP. More updates will come out.
