
This mod will make Spacers and Pirates recognize you on foot as the Mantis while you are wearing at least the helmet. I have tried to make them say the lines which sound most appropriate to their situation when fleeing, detecting you, etc. without being spammy. I made a version for the vanilla helmet and 1 version for both of the KZ Mantis helmets.
There are only maybe 4-5 lines for Spacers and 4-5 lines for Pirates which did not specifically mention the ship, so tuning the frequency/cooldown of these lines so that you reliably hear them without them getting spammy was a little tricky.
The vanilla version works with the base game helmet, and the KZ one works with both versions of the excellent KZ Mantis helmet. Only the helmet needs to be worn, so you can mix and match the outfit with whatever spacesuit or apparel you like.
Requires: KZ Mantis 2.0 – Only needed for the version of this mod which refers to the KZ Mantis helmets

Spacers/Pirates will now recognize a companion wearing the Mantis helmet as the Mantis if they are engaged with them in combat
Spacer line frequency tuned back down to sit somewhere between where it was in verions 1 and 2 of this mod. After spending some time with 2, I figure it’s probably better to wonder when they will recognize you than to wonder when they will stop
Version 2 changes:
Make usage of the Mantis lines more frequent while also preventing NPCs from using the same line at the same time.
Spacers will now occasionally get scared by the Mantis while saying the lines in which they sound like they are in terror, and they will back away while fighting or outright flee. Pirates don’t, as they are clearly defiant of the Mantis in their voice lines.
Spacers/Pirates may now recognize the Mantis instead of warning of trespassing, and can run away or attack on sight as seems appropriate to the line.
