This mod was inspired by San Andreas and GTA V. I always liked how in those games, gangs actually existed in the open world. Gangs would be hanging around in the city and despite how subtle it was, it really added to the atmosphere. But in RDR2, every gang encounter is scripted and/or is tied to missions.

With this mod, you’ll start seeing gangs living naturally across the map, chilling in town, running supplies, fighting other factions or causing random trouble. But it’s not just gangs, it’s other groups as well such as Cornwall’s men, the U.S. Army, etc. For a full list, see below.

This mod was made for the main game during the year of 1899. It will still work after the epilogue but the factions are from 1899 which might seem weird in terms of lore. Some groups no longer exist by 1907, and this mod does not touch New Austin since you can only really set foot there after the main game.

I built a full relationship system between factions, so they actually react to each other and to the player. Some groups get along, some hate each other on sight, and those relationships can shift depending on area control. Each faction holds parts of the map based on their lore, but there are contested areas where some factions might fight one another.

This mod is disabled during main missions. It will still run during open world missions, however.

Mod Content
Rededrunk Factions.ini – Allows you to enable/disable factions. Set true to enable or false to disable.
Rededrunk_Factions.txt – Stores and tracks faction territory ownership, relationships, rotation timing, and events. The script reads and updates this file automatically. The file allows changes to persist between sessions, ensuring evolving world states and organic faction behavior. Do NOT change any of these values or it might not work properly.

Factions:
O’Driscoll Boys

Main Location(s): The Heartlands (New Hanover), Big Valley (West Elizabeth)
Behaviors: Can be found pretty much all over the map, but mainly hangs out in Valentine and the Heartlands.

Lemoyne Raiders

Main Location(s): Scarlett Meadows (Lemoyne), Bayou Nwa (Lemoyne)
Behaviors: Can be found all over Lemoyne; hangs out in Rhodes and Saint Denis; can be seen as far as Van Horn Trading Post.

Murfree Brood

Main Location(s): Roanoke Ridge (New Hanover)
Behaviors: Unpredictable and roams around Roanoke Ridge; can raid small areas and settlements on occasions.

Foreman Brothers

Main Location(s): Scarlett Meadows (Lemoyne)
Behaviors: Can be found traveling around Scarlett Meadows and even parts of New Hanover; hangs out in Rhodes.

Saint Denis Mob / Bronte Family

Main Location(s): Bayou Nwa (Lemoyne)
Behaviors: Hangs out in Saint Denis; can be sent to deal with groups that interfere with Mob operations.

Braithwaite Family

Main Location(s): Scarlett Meadows (Lemoyne)
Behaviors: Patrols surrounding area of Braithwaite Manor; will engage with the Grays; acquainted with Lemoyne Raiders and the Bronte Mob

Gray Family

Main Location(s): Scarlett Meadows (Lemoyne)
Behaviors: Patrols surrounding area of Caliga Hall and Rhodes; hangs out in Rhodes; will engage with the Braithwaites

Ku Klux Klan

Main Location(s): Scarlett Meadows (Lemoyne)
Behaviors: Small numbers and rarely roams around Lemoyne.

Wapiti Indians

Main Location(s): Grizzlies East (Ambarino), Grizzlies West (Ambarino), Cumberland Forest (New Hanover)
Behaviors: Some neutral to civilians, but certain groups with in the tribe can hunt down trespassers near their reservation; will engage with US Army.

US Army

Main Location(s): Cumberland Forest (New Hanover)
Behaviors: Occasionally patrols Cumberland Forest and surrounding areas; sets up stop points and exercise drills; comes down to Valentine for supplies and other leisure activities.

Ike Skelding’s Boys

Main Location(s): Big Valley (West Elizabeth)
Behaviors: Hunts down wanted men/groups; patrols West Elizabeth; hangs out in Strawberry.

Night Folk

Main Location(s): Bayou Nwa (Lemoyne), Bluewater Marsh (Lemoyne)
Behaviors: Hunts down travelers at night around Bayou Nwa and Bluewater Marsh

Cornwall’s Men

Main Location(s): The Heartlands (New Hanover)
Behaviors: Mainly patrols the Heartland Oil Fields. Occasionally can be sent to numerous train stations to ensure protection of goods. Rarely sent to deal with groups that interfere with Cornwall operations.

Jameson Mining and Coal Company Guards

Main Location(s): Roanoke Ridge (New Hanover)
Behaviors: Patrols Annesburg and surrounding areas.

Note: These are just the areas where each faction can mainly be found, however, they can still be found in other areas based on a number of factors. For example, as Saint Denis is the major city in the game, many factions can be found throughout.

Requirements
ScriptHookRDR2 V2 is required.

Installation
Place Rededrunk’s Factions.asi in the main directory.
Place Rededrunk Factions.ini in the main directory.
Place Rededrunk_Factions.txt in the main directory.
