Legendary Channel Catfish Restored V1.0

It’s well known there was intended to be an XL Legendary Catfish for the game with there being parts of the files left within the game. There is only 3 basic variants of the Channel Catfish that exist in game, so what I’ve done is used the albino colour of the Legendary Channel Catfish and made it into a regular sized Channel Catfish and added it to the spawn cycle of the other 3 catfish. Unlike the other catfish this legendary one does not have the wrapped up animation when you pick up the fish and put it on your horse as it doesn’t exist. This if anything makes this fish more special as it still functions normal but instead of a plain boring wrap covering it, you get to see the full colour the whole time. So this mod just helps to add to the world and unlocks an unused asset in the game. Also this is a simple mod that requires no textures or swaps or anything like that just follow the install instructions and you’re good to go.

I’m aware some people may of wanted the original XL Legendary Catfish version, this version doesn’t really blend into the world as it clips as it’s too big but does function the same as the other catfish. I realised some people may not want to add more animals realistically but rather just wanted a fun mod, so I decided to make two versions. One were the colour of the legendary Catfish variant has been added to the world and another version called ‘River Monsters’, were I made all the Channel Catfish the same and used the XL Legendary Catfish body for them. So all 4 variants are now large catfish you can catch in game (Be aware due to the size of them the hook when fishing will hook on the fish’s torso rather than it’s mouth).

VERSIONS
Legendary Channel Catfish Restored – This adds a coloured variant of the unused Legendary Channel Catfish as a regular Catfish to spawn with the other 3 Channel Catfish in the game.

River Monsters – This adds the variant of the unused Legendary Channel Catfish and makes all the other 3 Channel Catfish XL too. IMPORTANT – This version is for fun purposes only and does not function normal in game with things such as clipping, wrong weight of fish as well as fishing hook attaching to torso not the mouth of the fish. The purpose of this version is so people can experience what it could of been like with the original Legendary Channel Catfish XL version added to the game instead of cut from it.

Be aware these two versions would conflict if installed on at the same time. These mods are made so you can download and install them both at the same time and then use ‘Lenny’s Mod Manger’ to be able to turn off or on the mods you want to use before you load in. This way you never have to choose between only one version, you now have the option to have both and switch between the two before you play the game.

HELPFUL INFO
To help people find the new catfish, I have provided a picture of a map with the 3 locations I found that they spawn at. What I did to test is if you go to these locations with Rampage Trainer installed, you can make the water clear with the trainer and what you want to do is make sure the weather is overcast and then take out your fishing rod, you will then see the catfish spawn in the water. I found that it’s just a random spawn pattern and sometimes you get the new catfish and sometimes you don’t. I took pictures of the catfish in the water this way to show how it appears.

INSTALL
– First you need to install Lenny’s Mod Loader correctly.
– Then Just place the ‘lml’ folder in your game directory for your Red Dead Redemption 2.

EXTRA INFO
If you have Rampage Trainer installed you can spawn all the Channel Catfish variants with that.
