Outpost Overhaul V0.1.1.2

This mod streamlines and rearranges the outpost categories, adds a plethora of decorational and interactable objects, and provides fixes and improvements for some of the default homes.

Nice media, but I’d like a list of features!

Aside from having all of my past outpost mini mods included, it does the following things:

– rearranged and streamlined outpost building menu categories, by changing priority order, renaming some default and adding completely new categories
– adding 40+ new decorational objects, primarily in categories that felt underdeveloped(bathroom, kitchen, interactables)
– adding 15+ new interactable objects to bring some life and quality of life to outposts(radios, trade authority kiosks, mission boards, vending machines)
– all menu items have proper icons, collision, navmesh and snap points/templates
– lifted limit of quantity for turrets and mannequins(99)
– enabled all categories for all outpost and home variants that previously didn’t have it(Neon Sleepcrate etc.)
– added a full fledged decorator activator to the lodge so you can decorate it your way by default
– special versions of adoring fan objects for you to adore the adoring fan even more than he adores you
– a full fledged SSNN news radio and music player radio to interact with
– a couple of minor fixes like typos and missing keywords on objects and cobj’s etc.
– all Starfield Community Patch edits included by default to minimize conflict

For even more detail just review the image section. There are plenty of images, and images usually speak more than a thousand words.

How is it installed?

As always and inb4 official tools are released, you will need to have the plugin.txt enabler installed!

To make sure the menu icons are properly working you also need to make sure the plugin is enabled in position [03], loading AFTER the Starfield Community Patch(no dependencie), and before every other mod you are using. If you can’t be bothered about menu icons you can place the mod anywhere in the list.

Outpost Overhaul V0.1.1.2

This is my first mod properly packed into .ba2 archives. So for Vortex, Mod Manager 2 or any other current/future mod installation tool, you would just need to drag and drop the download into the tools installation section, or download with the Nexus Mod installer.

For manual installation you would need to unzip the Data.7z and then move the files inside to your Starfield\Data folder. After that add this to your plugins.txt AFTER where you positioned the Starfield Community Patch:

*CBM_CrEaToXxBuildMod.esm

Of course you can just ignore everything that was said about the community patch if you don’t use it.

Made with still experimental version of xEdit, so mind the risk. No reflection has been touched and/or altered, so you should be safe to go.

What about compatibility?

A patch for SKK’s Universal Stash is provided. You can use this as example on how to make other outpost mods working, that depend on custom keywords etc.

The mod should be fully compatible with StarUI Outpost even though it’s the sole exception to my current list of menu mods.

How are the custom categories added?

Via papyrus script and formlist injection. On a new game start(this covers ng+ as well) they will be available by default. On an existing savegame you will need to approach your outpost beacon and/or home decorator once, so the activation menu shows up. The categories will then be injected.

How is everything else handled in terms of categories?

A direct hack so to say(edit). I’m fully aware of the script changing and injecting option, but 1. formlists can be cleansed of script added forms only, and 2. I wanted you to see exactly what I did to the categories form list, so you can easily patch in the changes into other mods of your personal list if needed.

Some of the objects have been edited as well. For example the default sink has been allowed for lower placement. Some of the default cobj’s and outpost keywords have been edited to match the new categorie structure, or simply because of “themed” reasons, and some of the default formlists have some of my custom objects added to lower the amount of clutter when browsing the menu.
