Community Categories V1.0.5

This mod is a Dependency mod used by other mods to build Menu Categories in the Outpost Build Menus.

This mod will NOT add anything to your game BY ITSELF.

Community Categories is a community option to Category creation in the Starfield Outpost, Ship & Home or OSH Build menus.

To create new menus for the OSH build menus, the following forms MUST be “HARD EDITED”. This means that any other mod that edits these forms will instantly override any modifications your mod has made. This then fuels a Load Order WAR and a first come first serve attitude, which spits in the face of the meaning of “Community”.

So Community Categories does these “HARD EDITS”, meaning that any mod creator can then use Community Categories to bypass editing these forms themselves, and removes one of growing conflicts between decoration mods that have custom categories.

So to achieve this synergy of collaboration, the following forms have been modified by Community Categories:

– SFBGS006_SBShipDecorationMarker, 002EF273

In each of these forms we have added keywords that are used to filter “constructable objects” into their menu categories.

At present there is no other way of doing this and unless Bethesda rewrite some chunky parts of the game, there most likely wont be the option to do so either.

At present there is no way to do this via papyrus.

If you know of mods that at present cant be used together because of these menu clashes, let them know about Community Categories.
Mod Developers, if you wish to use Community Categories, then go right ahead.

Our Discord Server has an up to date list of available Keyword numbers. From there let us know which Keyword numbers you are using and what your categories are called. We will hard code this into the mod for you.

Users should place this mod and those mods dependent upon it AT THE VERY END of their load order.
