Most Wanted – Ultimate Bounty Hunters V1.7

Most Wanted - Ultimate Bounty Hunters V1.4

A massive overhaul of the games Bounty Hunter system, this mod provides a entirely new customizable framework.

This is one of the first few mods I have made, and the very first one to be published, so please give me all the feedback you can to help me
improve.

This mod was inspired by Rededrunk’s Hunted, make sure you go and endorse their mod before mine, as this would not exist without theirs.

Here is a quick overview of features that you will find in this mod: A fully customizable framework that can spawn Bounty Hunters anywhere you are at, you can control how many in-game hours it takes for them to spawn, how far they will spawn from you, different variations, you can set how many Bounty Hunters spawn, control their weapon loadouts, and much more!

Installation:

Installation Steps:
Ensure you have ScriptHookRDR2 V2 already installed in your main RDR2 directory.
Download Mostwanted.Zip, and unzip it.
Place MostWanted.asi in your main RDR2 directory.
Place MostWanted.ini in your main RDR2 directory.
Start your game.
Upon the first time the mod is loaded in your game, a file should be created in your main directory called MostWanted.dat.
If you do not see MostWanted.dat get generated after following the steps above you need to set BOTH RDR2.EXE, and playRDR2.exe to be run as a administrator.
To do this right click either .exe, go to properties, compatibility tab, towards the bottom tick the box that says run this program as a administrator, and repeat to the other.
IF YOU ARE HAVING ISSUES CRASHING AFTER THE GAME BOOTS YOU NEED TO UPDATE THE DINPUT8.DLL FROM SCRIPHOOK V2. AND REPLACE IT WITH THE ONE FROM Ultimate ASI Loader. Scroll down the page and find the dinput8.dll select win64 or win32 depending on your system, and then drag that file replacing the one in your main game directory. (Ultimate Asi Loader is the most current loader there is right now and should be fine to upgrade and wont affect any of your other mods.) THIS IS NOT A HARD REQUIREMENT ANYMORE, SCRIPTHOOK V2 MODLOADER SHOULD WORK FINE.

Read through the Features, and Most Wanted section to understand how this mod works.
Read the ini, and ensure you follow instructions and do not edit values incorrectly.

Have Fun!

Features:
A customizable timer that tracks your in-game time, Bounty Hunters will spawn in after the elapsed time has passed from what you have set in the ini.

Bounty Hunters spawn on a ring around the player, you can control how far or close they spawn to you.

Bounty Hunters can spawn in anywhere the player is at, except designated camp safe zones, once spawned in Bounty Hunters are tasked to follow you to a general location around the player.

There is LOS radius around the player that makes it so Bounty Hunters have to be within 40m to aggro this prevent Bounty Hunters from shooting you on spawn, and gives you time to run and find cover, or possibly even hide.

Bounty Hunters have good vision once in the LOS range, they will search houses/buildings, rooms, and climb ladders looking for you, after a random tick between 60s-120s if the Bounty Hunters did not gain LOS of you, they will then flee the area giving up their pursuit. (Note: This feature is implemented, however in all my testing the AI was too good at searching for you, and always found my hiding spots, good luck.)

Once one Bounty Hunter has found the player and gained LOS, they all become hostile, and aware of your location. (Note: Once they are aggro Bounty Hunters will be using the games regular combat engine, and works seamless with whatever combat mods you may have.)

You can also decide to just run away from the Bounty Hunters, if you do not want to fight or have no places to hide, Bounty Hunters will despawn after a 200m distance is achieved between them and the player.

Bounty Hunter waves are tracked when they spawn, so it does not matter how you decide to deal with them, every time you get a spawn, +1 will be added in to the counter within MostWanted.dat.

There are five customizable bounty tiers, each with a settable bounty amount that determines what type of enemies will spawn, higher tiers are set to be more difficult. (Note: There is a hard cap from the game engine that wont allow you to exceed a $1,500 bounty, so this is the default Max.)

Three customizable variations you can set for each tier/ Bounty Hunter spawn.

Foot = Bounty Hunters that will pursue and chase you down on foot.
Dog = Same as Foot, but with the inclusion of a dogs spawning along with them, the amount and type of dogs can be customized.
Horse = Bounty Hunters will be spawned on horseback and ride to you, they are forced to dismount once they enter a 50m radius of the player, unless you are on horseback or in a vehicle. The horses from these spawns do not despawn until the next Bounty Hunter wave triggers, as well as gaining a map icon after being dismounted by the Bounty Hunter. Allowing you to track these horses down to stable them or sell them, Bounty Hunters will use and ride more rare horses the higher the tier, you can fully customize the horse spawns in the ini.

A hidden Bounty occurs at the end of each day, you can customize how much this hidden bounty is, and the amount will be applied when you commit a crime on top of the crime you committed.

If you do not have a current bounty in the region, Bounty Hunters will not spawn, nor do you occur a hidden bounty increase.

You can disable the games vanilla Bounty Hunter system.

Each tier has a base amount of peds hard coded in to spawn: T1=2 , T2=3 , T3=4 , T4=5 , T5=5.

You can add additional peds to each tier in the ini, under the [Extras] section, as well as control the percent chance they have to spawn in, so you can add 5 additional peds to tier 5, and give them each a 100% spawn rate if you want things more difficult.

Fully customizable weapon loadouts for each Bounty Hunter tier, you can swap what weapons are used for the loadout, and set the percent chance of what loadout will be chosen randomly for each ped. (Note: In the ini you can even give them weapons from other mods, you just need to have the proper hash name for the weapon you want to give from the mod you are using.)

Bounty Hunters will not spawn in any of the camps in the main game story, including epilogue camps, you can customize which camp safe zones to keep on or off.

Most wanted:

YOU MAY NEED TO SET RDR2.EXE AND PLAYRDR2.EXE TO BE RAN AS A ADMINISTRATOR, ENSURE YOU FOLLOW THE INSTALLATION STEPS IF MOSTWANTED.DAT DOES NOT GET GENERATED OR IF THE COUNTER NEVER UPDATES WITHIN THE FILE*

This is the titular feature of this mod, what it does exactly is uses the MostWanted.dat to track how many Bounty Hunter waves spawn in, this is carried over through your saves, and play sessions. Once the counter being tracked hits a number that you can configure in the ini instead of a normal Bounty Hunter wave being spawned in you will become the MOST WANTED.

During Most Wanted you will gain a max wanted level, however during this regular law dispatch will not spawn and come after you.
Instead you only need to worry about and will be forced to face three waves of enemies.
You can configure in the ini how many Bounty Hunters each wave will spawn in, and how long it takes between the waves to spawn.
The Bounty Hunters during Most Wanted will have increased aggro and LOS range, attacking you almost immediately on sight.
Most Wanted Bounty Hunters will follow you no matter how far you travel or where, you will never be able to hide or shake them off your trail, they will not despawn if they are too far away from you.
Most Wanted ends when either you succeed in finishing off every last Bounty Hunter, or the player dies, when this happens the MostWanted.dat counter will be updated back to zero.
If you do manage to succeed and finish off every Bounty Hunter, upon their death your Bounty will be completely cleared in the current region you are in, and you are given a 1 min grace period of no crime to get away from the scene where piles of bodies you just stacked up are.
You can customize the weapon loadout for Most Wanted, but not the variations, they always spawn on foot.

Every option you see within Features, and Most Wanted are customizable to some level within the ini, there are more details on what certain things do, and the values you should use within the ini itself. Make sure to go through the ini!!!

Q A

Q : Is this mod compatible with XYZ? *Bandit Hideouts IS NOT FULLY COMPATIABLE (Check Sticky Post in Comments)*

A : Yes, this mod should mostly be compatible with every other mod, when designing this mod I was testing it during my heavily modded playthrough, I have all of the popular mods and then some. I found no issues or conflictions with other mods, in fact most combat/ weapon mods add to this.

Q : Are there any major bugs or glitches?

A : As far as I can tell there should not be any major bugs, however there are a few bugs/glitches you may encounter:

When a ped can not be spawned they will be placed randomly around your spawn ring rather then in a group. (Rarely happens and script tries to retry spawns to get the correct amount still.)
I forgot to implement a safeguard so they cant spawn too far below you so certain areas of the map with canyons if you are on a cliff side they could spawn down in the gulch (will get patched out).
Depending on the area or elevation if they Bounty Hunters spawn too far from the player the game can not task them and they will simply stand still until you get close enough for aggro. (Follow the ini instructions to ensure you do not set the spawn ring too far and you should avoid this issue completely, rarely ever happening under certain circumstances.)
Bounty Hunters sometimes wait to aggro to you if you are playing a minigame like poker or blackjack, once you leave the table they will then engage. ( Needs more investigating and further testing.)

Q : What mods would you recommended to go with this?

A : Ped Damage Overhaul Reloaded , Rededrunk’s Law Dispatch Response , Rededrunk’s Ultimate Combat Overhaul- AI BASE , Kiddo’s Hardcore Loot Economy Overhaul , LOS Enemy Blips , and Enhanced Entity and World Persistence Reloaded
