LASAGNA Environments

LASAGNA Environments

These mods increase creature size, plant/object density, biome variation, plant/object size, LOD + draw distance, fog, and amplified terrain.

An update on compatibility:

As of patch 3.67, IncreasedCreatureSize, ObjectDensityIncrease, and ObjectSizeIncrease work with these mods:
-ArghWater by Argh
-DUD’S SKY – TERRA FIRMA by jasondude7116
-DUD’S SKY – COLORS by jasondude7116
-JetPack Tank x 10 by Tinz
-Pulse Drive Speed by ClearanceClarence (I use x6)
-No camera shake or head bob by Blargob (for camera shake caused by big creatures)

Compatibility (files changed):

CreatureSizeIncrease – GCCREATUREGLOBALS.MBIN, METADATA\SIMULATION\ECOSYSTEM\CREATUREDATATABLE.MBIN, many files in METADATA\SIMULATION\ECOSYSTEM\*

ObjectDensityIncrease – METADATA\SIMULATION\SOLARSYSTEM\BIOMES\PLACEMENTVALUES\SPAWNDENSITYLIST.MBIN

ObjectSizeIncrease – GCGRAPHICSGLOBALS.GLOBAL.MBIN, GCBUILDINGGLOBALS.GLOBAL.MBIN, GCENVIRONMENTGLOBALS.GLOBAL.MBIN, many files in METADATA\SIMULATION\SOLARSYSTEM\BIOMES\*

Terrain – METADATA\SIMULATION\SOLARSYSTEM\VOXELGENERATORSETTINGS.MBIN

SubtleFogIncrease – GCSKYGLOBALS.GLOBALS.MBIN

This mod includes 5 files (all optional and can be used independently of each other):

-LASAGNA_CreatureSizeIncrease.pak – Overhauled in v1.5: Chance of increased creature max scale of land, exotic, air, etc. species up to 20x,all underwater creatures up to 8x. Sandworms up to 2x. Butterflock and fishflock creatures stay small. Not all species will be giant.
Every species has its own modifier. Sets creature min count to 0.5x to decrease big glitchy groups of huge creatures (max is still the same).
Also increases spawn distance (IncreasedSpawnDistance) by 4x so you can see big creatures from far away (thanks to scripting by InsaneRuffles).

-LASAGNA_ObjectDensityIncrease.pak – Chance of increased density by up to 4x (both PatchSize and RegionScale) of: Trees, plants, biome specific plants and other objects. Increases grass density on lush biomes and patches of grass on other biomes.
Planets may still look similar to vanilla if you just use this mod. *Sometimes you have to look for the denser sections on a planet.*
This changes density to include open areas (RegionScale) for landing.

-LASAGNA_ObjectSizeIncrease.pak – This mod does many things! Chance of increased biome plant size by up to 8x. This includes hundreds of object types across all biomes. Shrubs, lush grass, wild plants, small rocks and other smaller objects can increase in size by 2.3x.
Will significantly impact performance, especially when combined with LASAGNA_ObjectDensityIncrease.pak. Almost all planets feature large plants or objects as of v1.2. As of v1.3, this also increases LOD and draw distance thanks to scripting done by InsaneRuffles. Increases placement min angle. Will also impact performance, see below. Can be used by itself, but planets can be so dense you can’t land (recommended with ObjectDensityIncrease, since it changes RegionScale). As of v1.8, planets can have up to 3 biomes on 1 planet, thanks to code by trevix.

-LASAGNA_AmplifiedTerrain_v1.pak – Amplified ground terrain on most biomes, plus deeper oceans. 1.1x max height, +0.8 amplified features, -10x ocean height. Can be very extreme, other planets may look similar to vanilla. Not recommended with multiplayer. You may want to save in a space station before loading this.
Not so compatible with other terrain mods!

-LASAGNA_SubtleFogIncrease_v1.pak – Adds subtle “E3 fog” to the horizon, only impacts planets with no/minimal fog (PlanetFog and PlanetFlightFog).
Not so compatible with other color changing mods!

How to install on Steam:

(Sry, I don’t know how to install on other launchers)

Unzip the downloaded folder. Place the desired .pak files in \steamapps\common\No Man’s Sky\GAMEDATA\PCBANKS\MODS\. Then go into your PCBANKS folder and delete or rename the DISABLEMODS.TXT file. Protip: To find where your game is installed, right-click “No Man’s Sky” on the sidebar within Steam, click on Properties > Local Files > Browse.

Performance:

*****Dense forests heavily impact performance, you can set shadows to lowest setting in these areas for a 15-20% performance gain.*****
