This mod is a complete visual overhaul of one of the Volcanic Biomes. The terrain has been resurfaced with pristine snow that is clear of rocks, gas vents, and other obstacles.
This mod changes one of the dusty volcanic biomes into a wintry volcanic landscape. All procedurally generated rocks, gas vents, and other obstacles have also been removed.
The affected biome is called “VolcanicWornNoLife01”. The biome has been renamed to “Volcanic Highlands”. It can be found on:
– Nikola VII-a
– Alchiba II
For the best immersion, Nikola VII-a is a better choice because it is a cold moon, whereas Alchiba II is an inferno planet. If you are determined to land on Alchiba II, just imagine the terrain of Alchiba II being covered with silica or any other white substance of your choosing. Alchiba II also has two Volcanic Biomes; make sure you’re landing on “Volcanic Highlands”, not “Volcanic”.
There is a minor caveat with removing proc-gen terrain elements: the rocks and vents are essential for spawning resources, so this mod will make scanning for inorganic resources in these biomes almost impossible, but it can still be done in other biomes of the affected planet or moon. Resource veins remain available, and resource gathering using outpost harvesters is unaffected. Other gameplay mechanics, such as keywords, flora, fauna, resources, or quests, also stay the same. Rocks associated with POI are still present, including a few at ship landing sites.
The terrain is still pretty rugged despite the absence of rocks, so don’t expect a smooth driving experience. However, with fewer terrain objects to load, the flying experience using a modded vehicle is vastly improved.

INSTALLATION:
Download the main file via a mod manager.
The mod can be installed mid-game.
If updating from an earlier version, this can be done anytime.
COMPATIBILITY AND LOAD ORDER:
This mod modifies the following vanilla record and will conflict with other mods that edit the same thing:

This mod does NOT edit worldspaces or cells.
This mod changed the weather types to another vanilla set, so it should be compatible with other weather mods.
Load order:
– This mod should be loaded after mods that edit biomes.
