The Mosquito was WH Industries second dedicated attempt at landing a UC Navy contract following the Butcher Bird. Slightly more compact yet heavier than that vessel, the ship was distinguished by its forward weapon mount, allowing a slew of weapons to be mounted close to the center line of the ship for a focused line of fire. The marketing material simply referred to this as “the weapon mount”, but the navy crews that tested the ship variously referred to it as “the probe”, “the prong”, “the rod”, “the love gun”, “the throbbing shaft” or “Mr Buzzy”.
It’s for these reasons that the UC Navy declined to take on the vessel, as the sheer number of innuendos crews came up with essentially made communication almost impossible. Regardless, the ship was considered vastly superior to the navy’s equivalent ships and WH Industries ended up using them as staryard defence ships.
The Mosquito is a class C ship, becomes available from level 30, can be bought in New Atlantis and requires the Ship Vendor Framework.
